Redington Limited, being an Advanced Consulting Partner for GCP, has worked on migrating and modernizing SAP applications on GCP.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"barred\">Challenges:<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul class=\"inner-lists\">\n<li>JPCPL&#8217;s current on-premise SAG application infrastructure was expiring and facing latency and performance issues.<\/li>\n<li>Their Dev\/Prod environment was on the same server which they wanted to segregate<\/li>\n<li>They also required professional managed services 24\/7 due to manpower issues.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"barred\">Overview &amp; Architecture:<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul class=\"inner-lists\">\n<li>Deployed and migrated the SAP application workloads on GCP with scalable and secure all deployments paired with Redington&#8217;s workloads and migration capabilities.<\/li>\n<li>Along with subscription licenses from GCP to enjoy the support and benefits of BYOL (Bring Your Own License). Choose from multiple deployment options for SAP application workloads.<\/li>\n<li>Workloads\n<ul>\n<li>Google Compute Engine\n<ul>\n<li>Windows Server<\/li>\n<li>SLES<\/li>\n<li>SLES for SAP<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>VPC<\/li>\n<li>Load Balancer<\/li>\n<li>Google Cloud Monitoring<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"barred\">High Level Architecture:<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The diagram outlines a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) landing zone architecture centered around a common &#8220;Root,&#8221; supporting JSPL.COM and Jindalpanther.com domains. JSPL.COM encompasses diverse environments such as Non SAP DR, Security, Production, Non-Production, and a Network Hub Project, interconnected via VPC peering. Jindalpanther.com includes SAP environments segregated into Non-Prod and Prod, each hosted in isolated VPCs and linked through VPC peering. Backups are created on the on-premises system and the backup files are transferred to GCP using HANA Studio. For this migration the approach was as follows:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"barred\"><b>Assessment: Finalizing the required details to deploy servers.<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul class=\"inner-lists\">\n<li>Inventory: Conducting a detailed inventory of existing SAP applications and database servers.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dependencies: Identifying and documenting all application dependencies.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Timeline: Defining the migration timeline.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Resources: Assigning roles and responsibilities for the migration team.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Risk Management: Identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Validation: Planning for post-migration validation and performance testing.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"barred\"><b>Deployment<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul class=\"inner-lists\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For the implementation of infra, the above architecture was followed to deploy the complete infrastructure in a phased manner to prioritize the critical workloads first.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The VPC and associated services like the Security Group, route tables, site-to-site tunnels from customer locations were set up on GCP.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For the migration scope of the project, Compute Engine Machine was launched and configured as required prior to initiating the migration.<\/span>\n<ul class=\"inner-lists\">\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Setting up VPN Tunnels between source and GCP and customer office and GCP.<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Configuring database migration using GCP Migration Service<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Set up GCP Load Balancer<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Configured monitoring services using Cloud Monitoring and Cloud Logging.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"barred\"><b>Summary<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul class=\"inner-lists\">\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GCP enabled autoscaling, seamless adjustments to computing resources based on real-time demands, ensuring optimal performance and cost-efficiency for applications and services.<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cloud monitoring provided comprehensive visibility into resource utilization, allowing users to efficiently track, analyze, and optimize their cloud infrastructure\u2019s performance and resource allocation in real-time within GCP.<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Managed Service Reports delivered comprehensive recommendations for infrastructure optimization and cost savings, meticulously tailored to align with consumption analysis in Google Cloud Platform and overcame manpower issues.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Redington can help customers not only migrate but also modernize their workloads with GCP.
